This highly stylized piece evokes an Eastern garden in bloom as a young bride gazes at its beauty. I imagined the garden exploding with the color and fragrance of exotic flowers and birdsong on a warm summer morning.

I enjoy mixing various materials that individually possess their own beauty, but when combined, work in concert to bring my artistic vision to fruition. In addition to oil on panel - glass mosaic smalti from Venice and metal are used. This work was inspired by my love of Byzantine art and iconography.
